Job summary

Johnson Electric in Plymouth, Michigan, is seeking a Server Administrator to maintain enterprise server infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and SQL. You will design high-availability environments, manage Hyper-V, Veeam backups, and participate in global IT projects and audits.

The role requires hands-on experience with clustering, disaster recovery, and cross‑functional collaboration, with travel locally and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Microsoft Windows Server experience (2017/2019/2022, Server 2025 preferred).
• Experience with physical-to-cloud migrations (AWS, Azure).
• 2+ years of server connectivity via Cisco switches/routers/WLAN/firewalls.
• Strong Active Directory and Exchange in multi-site environments.
• Hands-on Hyper‑V, Veeam, SCCM, and Zabbix.
• Experience supporting a 24x7 operational environment.
• IBM AS400 administration experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer Hyper‑V environments, including patching, backups, and lifecycle management.

• Ensure proper server permissions and access controls.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.
• Collaborate with Global IT teams on infrastructure standards and best practices.
• Participate in internal and external system audits.
• Coordinate with external vendors for software licenses and support services.
• Provide 24x7 global infrastructure support as part of the IT team.
• Ensure compliance with TISAX, CMMC, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 27001.
• Travel locally and internationally as required.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server (2017 / 2019 / 2022); familiarity with Server 2025 preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with physical‑to‑cloud migrations (AWS, Azure).
• 2+ years of experience with server connectivity via Cisco switches, routers, WLAN, and firewalls.
• Cisco certification or working toward certification.
• Strong experience with Active Directory and Exchange in multi‑site environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Hyper‑V, Veeam, SCCM, and Zabbix.
• Experience supporting a 24x7 operational environment.
• IBM AS400 administration experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Fluent in English; Spanish or Chinese is a plus.
