Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking an IT Security Manager to supervise daily activities of the IT Security Team. An hourly rate between $56.85 and $71.06 is offered, along with various benefits for full-time employees.

Qualifications

• Successful CJIS background check required prior to hire date.

Job Overview

Supervises the daily activities of the IT Security Team and manages the implementation and monitoring of security controls and services across the County’s IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security controls and services to mitigate risk.
• Oversee daily monitoring of computer networks and investigate security breaches.
• Provide timely reporting of security events to management at various levels.
• Deliver cybersecurity education and awareness training to County employees.
• Collaborate with the IT Security Manager and other IT Managers on cybersecurity matters.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call support for IT security issues.
• Participate in emergency management activities during local or state disasters as directed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in cybersecurity or related field (or a high‑school diploma/GED plus at least 4 years of relevant professional experience and 7 years required experience).
• Minimum 7 years of job‑related experience, including 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Thorough knowledge of network security, web application security, mobile device security, anti‑virus, anti‑malware, two‑factor authentication, data loss prevention, backup and storage, identity and access management, encryption, email security, Microsoft 365, SCCM, endpoint protection, firewalls, VPNs, single sign‑on, Active Directory, access control, patch management, incident response, application security, and vulnerability assessment.
• Successful CJIS background check required prior to hire date.

Salary & Benefits

Hourly rate ranging from $56.85 to $71.06, based on qualifications.
