Job summary

VSE Aviation, Inc. is seeking an IT Security Analyst II to lead the triage and response to cybersecurity incidents. You will own alert investigation, coordinate with SOC partners, and drive improvements across SIEM, EDR, and cloud security platforms to protect aviation operations.

You’ll engage with IT, Security, and Infrastructure teams, contribute to playbooks, and mentor junior staff while ensuring regulatory alignment and risk reduction across manufacturing and service environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information security, or equivalent experience.
• 4–6 years in cybersecurity operations or incident response.
• Hands-on with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and email security tech.
• Strong log correlation across systems; analytical mindset.
• Scripting ability in PowerShell or Python; basic cloud security knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Triage and investigate security alerts per IR framework; primary responder.
• Analyze alerts to identify true positives; recommend containment.
• Lead incident response playbooks and improve detection rules.
• Develop SIEM use cases, correlation rules, and dashboards.
• Coordinate with IT, Network, Cloud; harden environments.
• Support audits, pentests, and tabletop exercises.
