Job summary

VEIC is seeking an Information Security Engineer II to join our security team in Vermont. The role focuses on blue team operations, security engineering, and hands-on incident response across the security stack.

You will own security projects end-to-end, collaborate with IT, and contribute to governance, forensics, and policy initiatives while helping to strengthen VEIC’s security controls and resilience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in information security operations/engineering.
• Experience securing Microsoft 365 security products and related tools.
• Ability to own security projects from design through implementation.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead monitoring, triage, and response to security alerts and incidents.
• Coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery activities.
• Engineers, implements, and maintains security technologies and automation.
• Owns projects end-to-end with minimal oversight.
• Collaborate with IT teams on security improvements and policy initiatives.
• Advise business units on cyber risk and security best practices.
• Develop and enhance security automation, including AI-assisted tools.
• Provide training on information security risks to VEIC staff.
• Participate in on-call and after-hours incident response as needed.
