Job summary

Grant Thornton (US) is seeking an IT Risk Manager to lead engagements, assess IT risk, and strengthen internal controls for clients within the Risk, Compliance & Controls Practice. You will guide risk assessment programs, audits, and SOX work while applying COBIT, NIST, and ISO frameworks.

You’ll manage engagements, develop new business, mentor staff, and ensure high standards of professional conduct and client confidentiality across cross‑industry engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, IT, MIS, or related field.
• 6+ years of related consulting experience.
• Certifications: CIA, CISA, CISSP, CISM, CPA preferred.
• Experience with technology risk assessments, audits, and control reviews; familiarity with IIA standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform engagement management: reviews, delegation, scheduling, economics, quality control, client management.
• Drive business development: proposals, captures, accounts, whitepapers, conferences.
• Maintain professional standards and client confidentiality.
• Identify and manage IT risks within clients’ strategy and IT risk frameworks.
• Lead IT risk assessments, IT audits, and IT SOX engagements.
• Apply COBIT, NIST, ISO frameworks to client environments.
• Develop IT components within enterprise risk programs.
• Mentor staff and manage performance on engagements.
