Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an IT Risk & Controls Consultant to support a DHS client with IT controls audits, assessments, remediation, and related support. You will engage stakeholders, perform control testing, and document conclusions to ensure audit readiness.

You will work with client personnel to analyze weaknesses, develop remediation plans, and deliver clear briefing materials on OMB A-123 compliance and internal controls. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain a Federal or DoD Public Trust clearance before onboarding.
• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years in IT controls, audit, assessment or remediation.
• Familiarity with IT controls testing and audit readiness practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct IT controls audits/assessments using industry-leading guidance and practices.
• Perform walkthrough interviews with client stakeholders including system administrators.
• Review artifacts (security plans, SOPs, system configurations) to support testing.
• Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of IT controls and document results.
• Summarize assessment results to senior leadership and plan remediation actions.
• Support development of corrective action plans to address material weaknesses and deficiencies.
