Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks an experienced Project Manager to join the Shipboard Electrical Systems (SES) team. You will drive planning and execution of infrastructure and IT projects that support I&C systems on submarines and aircraft carriers, working within the NTI subdivision.

Responsibilities include prioritizing work, monitoring progress with metrics, and engaging stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience managing medium to large scale complexity IT projects.
Experience with portfolio management frameworks, methodologies, or tools (e.g., integrated master schedules, portfolio dashboards, etc.).
Experience with developing or using various project planning tools (e.g. Primavera/Atlassian Jira/ MS Project etc.).
NNL PMCP certification, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or willingness / ability to obtain these certifications.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority, build trust, and drive alignment across organizations.
Experience building dashboards using Power BI and connecting to various data sources, or willingness / ability to learn these skills.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain an overall approach that facilitates active management of the NTI subdivision's work portfolio.
Prioritize work based on mission need / impact, resource availability, risk, and dependencies.
Monitor execution via metrics and ensure effective stakeholder engagement and communication.
Support staff in defining individual project plans and assisting with financial planning and budgeting activities.
Coordinate input to Department level requests and promote lessons learned and continuous improvement across the subdivision.
Manage multiple efforts simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities to ensure successful delivery of projects.
