Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an IT Project Manager to independently lead small to medium projects in a healthcare/education context. You will gather inputs and translate them into detailed project plans with timelines, milestones, resources, and deliverables.

The role requires PMP certification within 1 year, a bachelor's degree, and strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills. Proficiency with PM tools like Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, and Clarity PPM is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage small to medium IT projects independently.

• Ensure QA, migrations, and end-user validation, training, and support processes are followed.
• Develop and maintain reporting dashboards for Senior Leadership.
• Conduct post-project lessons-learned sessions.
• Provide status reports to steering committees.
• Apply project management methodologies and governance.

Job description

• Manage small to medium assigned IT projects independently
• Gather task inputs and translate them into project plans with tasks, dependencies, timelines, milestones, resource requirements, and deliverables
• Monitor project progress and ensure critical implementation criteria are met
• Coordinate with Architects, Team Leads, Resource Managers, IT Leaders, and Sponsors
• Ensure project teams follow processes for quality assurance, migrations and promotions, end-user acceptance/validation, training, and support
• Facilitate project meetings and maintain meeting minutes
• Develop and maintain reporting dashboards for Senior Leadership
• Conduct post-project lessons-learned sessions
• Provide status reports to steering committees
• Apply appropriate project management methodologies
• Manage project scope and timelines using governance bodies and Project Office leadership direction
• Identify, track, and manage project risks, mitigation plans, and issues through resolution
• Determine project scope in collaboration with executive sponsors, users, and analysts
• Collaborate with technical leads and Resource Managers to assign resources
• Obtain necessary approvals
• Stay current with business and strategic goals, service providers, team roles, processes, tools, and architecture
• Attend webinars, read case studies and white papers, and participate in professional development opportunities
• Build and maintain internal departmental relationships
• Present to staff on work-related issues
• Serve on committees and attend meetings as requested
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience required
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI within 1 year required
• Experience in healthcare or higher education field preferred
• Service Now, Jira, Smartsheet, Clarity PPM, or Project Portfolio Management (PPM) software experience preferred
• Detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage projects required
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills required
• Extensive computer literacy, including Microsoft Project, Teams, and PowerPoint preferred
