Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking an IT Project Manager to lead small to mid-size projects within the ISD Chief Technical Office. Based at 601 Elmwood Ave in Rochester, NY, you will coordinate with architects, leaders, and stakeholders to deliver on time, within scope, and with quality.

Responsibilities include developing project plans, tracking progress, managing risks and issues, and providing status updates to leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 3 years of related experience required.
Healthcare or higher education experience preferred.
Experience with ServiceNow, JIRA, Smartsheet, or Clarity PPM preferred.

Responsibilities

Manages small to medium IT projects with oversight from IT leadership; develops project plans with tasks, timelines, dependencies, resources, and deliverables.
Coordinates with architects, team leads, and sponsors to ensure QA, migrations, end-user validation, training and support; develops dashboards for senior leadership.
Identifies, tracks, and manages risks and issues; escalates as appropriate.
Defines project scope via collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders; assigns resources and obtains approvals.
Provides status reports to steering committees and uses project governance bodies as needed.
Keeps aligned with business goals and stays current with tools, processes, and architecture affecting the team.
Makes presentations to staff and participates in committees; performs other duties as assigned.
