Job description

Location: Hybrid – Orange, CT or Boston, MA

Employment: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Engagement: 1099 Independent Contractor for initial 6 - 12 months; Contract-to-Hire (CTH) opportunity thereafter

Experience: 5–10 years preferred

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a proactive, results-driven IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of technology services and projects for a multinational business environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who is ready to take ownership, lead from the front, and work directly with technical teams, clients, and senior stakeholders.

The successful candidate will oversee a multidisciplinary team of approximately 30 technical resources while managing project execution, service delivery, client communications, governance, and selected pre-sales activities.

We are looking for someone who does not wait to be told what needs to happen next. The right person identifies issues early, drives action, follows through, and keeps teams and stakeholders aligned.

Spanish Fluency Is Required

Near-native or native-level Spanish fluency and professional English fluency are required.

The successful candidate will regularly communicate with Spanish-speaking stakeholders and clients, making advanced Spanish communication skills an essential requirement of the role.

Candidates who do not possess the required level of Spanish fluency will not be considered for this position.

Key Responsibilities
The IT Project Manager will:
  • Manage the day-to-day execution and delivery of IT projects and services.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and management oversight for approximately 30 technical resources.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams supporting areas that may include Windows/Wintel, Unix/Linux, Cloud, Storage, databases, patching, Oracle/SQL, SAP Basis, and related infrastructure technologies.
  • Manage and monitor project timelines, budgets, scope, deliverables, risks, dependencies, issues, and changes.
  • Establish clear accountability across project teams and ensure commitments and milestones are met.
  • Maintain appropriate project governance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead and participate in Steering Committee meetings with clients, stakeholders, affiliates, vendors, and other external parties.
  • Maintain close, proactive communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor service delivery, project performance, SLAs, risks, and potential areas of concern.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and drive them through resolution.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) meetings and ensure appropriate documentation and follow-through.
  • Participate in and, when appropriate, lead Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
  • Support incident, problem, change, escalation, and service-continuity management processes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, process standardization, operational efficiency, and improved service quality.
  • Coordinate with technical leads and subject-matter experts without needing to personally perform hands-on technical work.

This position will also have an important role in supporting pre-sales activities.

The IT Project Manager will:
  • Participate in client discovery and requirements-gathering meetings.
  • Help translate business and technical requirements into practical delivery approaches.
  • Contribute to solution development, project scoping, estimating, and resource planning.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of Statements of Work (SOWs) and other project/service documentation.
  • Support proposals and client presentations.
Required Qualifications
  • Near-native or native-level Spanish fluency.
  • Professional English fluency.
  • Approximately 5–10 years of relevant Project Management, IT Service Delivery, or related experience is preferred. Candidates with additional experience are also welcome to apply.
  • Demonstrated experience managing IT projects, technical teams, or technology service-delivery environments.
  • Experience leading and coordinating multiple technical resources and workstreams.
  • Ability to provide effective management oversight of technical teams without being a hands-on technical practitioner.
  • Strong understanding of project management fundamentals, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, change, governance, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience managing competing priorities and driving multiple activities forward simultaneously.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and meeting-facilitation skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and take ownership of issues through resolution.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, multicultural environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working within a multinational or global organization.
  • Experience managing or coordinating teams of approximately 20–30+ technical resources.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, IT operations, cloud environments, databases, enterprise platforms, and related technologies sufficient to provide effective management oversight.
  • Understanding of ITIL-based incident, problem, change and service management processes.
  • Experience with IT service delivery and SLA management.
  • Experience supporting SOW development, proposals, solution scoping, or other pre-sales activities.
  • Experience working with global vendors and geographically distributed technical teams.
  • PMP, ITIL, or similar professional certification is preferred but not required.
The Person We Are Looking For

Technical knowledge matters, but this position is fundamentally about leadership, ownership, communication, and execution.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Proactive: Anticipates issues instead of waiting for them to become problems.
  • Action-oriented: Moves projects forward and follows through on commitments.
  • Accountable: Takes ownership of outcomes and expects accountability from the team.
  • Client-focused: Understands that strong delivery includes strong communication.
  • Organized: Can keep multiple teams, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders aligned.
  • Confident: Comfortable communicating with technical resources, business leaders, clients, and senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborative: Builds productive working relationships across teams, cultures, and organizations.
  • Adaptable: Can shift between project delivery, service management, client discussions, and pre-sales activities.
  • Results-driven: Focuses on getting the work completed correctly and on time.
Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position.

The selected candidate must reside within reasonable commuting distance of either Orange, Connecticut, or Boston, Massachusetts, or within the geographic corridor between these locations.

Depending on where the candidate resides, their primary reporting location will be either Orange, CT or Boston, MA—not both.

The position combines onsite work with remote work from home.

The selected candidate will initially join the engagement as a 1099 Independent Contractor (no benefits) working approximately 40 hours per week.

The initial contract period is expected to be six – twelve months and does not include employee benefits.

This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity, with the intention of considering a transition to a permanent position following the initial 6 – 12 month contract period, subject to performance, business requirements, and mutual agreement.

Why This Opportunity?

This role offers considerably more than maintaining schedules and producing project reports.

You will have the opportunity to own delivery, lead a substantial technical team, interact directly with clients and stakeholders, participate in solution development and pre-sales activities, and help ensure that complex IT services are delivered successfully.

Spanish and English, and knows how to get people moving toward a common objective.
