Job description

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading multiple concurrent technology projects from initiation through implementation and formal closure. This role requires strong project ownership, organization, communication, and the ability to effectively coordinate technical resources while maintaining clear and professional communication with clients and internal stakeholders.

The Project Manager will work directly with engineers, technical managers, business leaders, executives, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects remain aligned with agreed-upon scope, schedule, priorities, and objectives.

This is an experienced Project Manager position intended for candidates who have demonstrated success independently managing technical projects and cross-functional project teams. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities, communicating with executive-level stakeholders, and providing direction and accountability to technical resources.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple concurrent technical projects from project initiation and planning through implementation, transition, and closure.
  • Develop and maintain project plans that clearly define scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, resource requirements, responsibilities, and target completion dates.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project deliverables and milestones are completed according to established expectations.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings, status meetings, internal coordination meetings, client meetings, and other project-related discussions.
  • Provide clear direction to engineers and other technical resources regarding project priorities, assignments, dependencies, deadlines, and expected deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify issues, risks, dependencies, resource constraints, or other conditions that may affect successful delivery.
  • Escalate project risks and issues appropriately and work with technical leadership, management, clients, and other stakeholders to establish resolution plans.
  • Develop project scopes and objectives in collaboration with relevant technical and business stakeholders while helping ensure requirements and expectations are clearly understood.
  • Work closely with technical teams to validate project feasibility, identify implementation dependencies, and coordinate technical project activities.
  • Maintain accurate and current project documentation, including project plans, meeting notes, decisions, risks, issues, action items, status updates, change information, and closure documentation.
  • Track project tasks and follow up with assigned resources to ensure commitments, milestones, and deliverables are completed.
  • Communicate project status clearly to internal leadership, clients, and other stakeholders, including progress, upcoming milestones, risks, blockers, dependencies, and required decisions.
  • Facilitate communication between technical teams and nontechnical stakeholders and translate technical project information into clear, business-appropriate updates.
  • Manage client expectations throughout the project lifecycle while maintaining professional, responsive, and constructive relationships.
  • Coordinate project activities across departments and teams when work requires participation from multiple areas of the organization.
  • Assist with resource planning and identify scheduling or resource conflicts that could affect project delivery.
  • Ensure project changes, decisions, issues, and corrective actions are appropriately documented and communicated.
  • Support project transition and closure activities, including validation of deliverables, outstanding-item tracking, operational handoff, and project closeout.
  • Provide project reporting and project-related data to management and customers as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of project management processes, templates, documentation, tools, and delivery practices.
  • Coordinate occasional after-hours project activities when required for implementations, production changes, post-production support, or other project-driven events.
  • Perform other project management and related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Demonstrated professional experience independently managing technology or technical implementation projects.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, priorities, resources, stakeholders, and deadlines.
  • Experience coordinating and providing project direction to engineers, technical specialists, or other technical resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams without relying solely on direct reporting authority.
  • Experience communicating directly with clients and managing client-facing project activities.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with executives, business leaders, technical teams, clients, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Excellent professional English communication skills, both written and verbal, sufficient to lead meetings, communicate project status, prepare professional documentation, and interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong meeting facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience identifying, documenting, communicating, and managing project risks, issues, dependencies, action items, and changes.
  • Working knowledge of established project management methodologies and practices, such as traditional/waterfall, Agile, Scrum, hybrid, or similar approaches.
  • Experience using professional project management, collaboration, documentation, or service-management tools.
  • Experience with ConnectWise, Microsoft Project, Jira, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, or comparable project and service-management platforms is preferred.
  • Experience managing projects involving technology infrastructure, cloud environments, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, networking, endpoint deployments, application implementations, migrations, or related technical services is preferred.

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

  • Strong prioritization and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects without losing visibility into individual tasks, risks, dependencies, and deadlines.
  • Strong documentation and follow-up habits.
  • Ability to anticipate project risks and escalatie issues before they materially affect project delivery.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers and technical leaders while maintaining overall project ownership.
  • Familiarity with common project management lifecycle practices, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, transition, and closure.
  • Ability to adapt project management practices to the size, complexity, and needs of individual projects.
  • A professional and client-focused approach to problem solving and communication.
Working Conditions
  • Full-time position with a minimum 40-hour work week.
  • This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office.
  • Candidates must be located within reasonable commuting distance of the Phoenix metropolitan area and able to consistently satisfy the in-office requirement.
  • Flexibility may occasionally be required for project implementations, production activities, client requirements, or other project-driven events outside normal business hours.
  • Some travel may be required based on project or client needs.
  • The position requires frequent interaction with clients, technical teams, management, and other stakeholders through in-person meetings, Microsoft Teams, phone, email, and other business communication channels.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate standard computer equipment, including a keyboard, mouse, displays, and related peripherals.
  • Ability to participate in virtual and in-person meetings throughout the workday.
Direct Reports / Technical Resource Oversight

In addition to any formal reporting responsibilities associated with the position, the Project Manager will be expected to coordinate and provide project-level direction to engineers and other technical resources assigned to their projects. This includes establishing priorities, assigning or coordinating project activities, tracking deliverables, identifying blockers, following up on commitments, and escalating resource or delivery concerns when appropriate.

Other Information
  • This position is designed for an experienced Project Manager who is capable of taking ownership of complex technical projects and independently driving them forward. It is not structured as an entry-level or associate-level Project Manager position.
  • Candidates should have demonstrated professional experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders, technical resources, competing priorities, deadlines, dependencies, and client expectations.
  • Because this is a highly collaborative and client-facing role, candidates must possess excellent professional written and verbal English communication skills appropriate to the responsibilities of the position. The Project Manager must be able to confidently lead meetings, communicate project status, discuss risks and issues, facilitate decisions, document outcomes, and engage professionally with executives, clients, engineers, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • The successful candidate must be comfortable interacting directly with executive leadership and client stakeholders and should be able to adjust communication style appropriately for technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Prior experience managing, directing, or coordinating engineers and technical professionals is important for this role. Candidates should be comfortable setting expectations, establishing deadlines, following up on assigned work, identifying obstacles, and maintaining accountability while fostering productive working relationships with technical teams.
  • Candidates should have practical familiarity with recognized project management methodologies, lifecycle practices, and project management tools. The organization values practical project delivery experience and the ability to apply appropriate methodologies based on the needs and complexity of a project rather than adherence to a single methodology.
  • A PMP or other recognized project management certification/accreditation is preferred but not required. Equivalent demonstrated experience successfully managing complex technical projects will also be considered.
  • This is a hybrid position. Candidates must be located within reasonable commuting distance of the Phoenix metropolitan area and able to work from the designated office at least two days per week. Additional in-office presence may occasionally be required based on project, client, or business needs.
