Job summary

Leidos is seeking a summer Project Management Intern to support the SMIT Navy program from Reston, VA. The role focuses on project coordination, data analysis, and stakeholder communication within government contracting and IT services.

You will work with experienced PMs on multiple SMIT initiatives, develop templates and SOPs, and gain exposure to Navy IT operations and cybersecurity projects. This internship offers hands-on project lifecycle experience and dashboard preparation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business Administration, IT, or CIS; sophomores or higher.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
• Strong computer skills and quick learner of new software used in government contracting.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.
• GPA of 3.0 or better.

Responsibilities

• Assist project managers in day-to-day activities: tracking tasks, updating schedules, monitoring milestones.
• Create status reports, update dashboards, and prepare stakeholder presentations.
• Draft emails, schedule meetings, and maintain stakeholder contact lists for internal and Navy teams.
• Contribute to development of project management templates, checklists, and SOPs for SMIT.
• Provide general administrative support: organize files, calendars, and logistics for meetings and program reviews.
