Job summary

Leidos is seeking a summer intern in Reston, VA to support the SMIT program with project coordination, data analysis, and stakeholder communication. The role offers exposure to government contracting practices and IT service delivery within a defense environment.

The intern will assist project managers in day-to-day activities, prepare dashboards and presentations, and help standardize procedures for efficient program management. A strong communicarive and collaborative mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business Administration, Information Technology, or Computer Information Systems (or similar).
• Sophomore year or higher with demonstrated academic performance.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to obtain security clearance.
• GPA of 3.0 or better.

Responsibilities

• Project Support and Coordination: assist project managers with task tracking, schedule updates, and milestone monitoring for SMIT initiatives; maintain documentation and dashboards.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: collect and analyze project data; create status reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Communication: draft emails, schedule meetings, and maintain contact lists for Leidos and Navy personnel.
• Process Improvement: contribute to templates, checklists, and SOPs for government contracting requirements.
• Administrative Support: organize project files, calendars, and resources for SMIT program activities.
