The Ohio Department of Aging (AGE) is a cabinet-level agency within the executive branch of the Ohio state government. The director of AGE is a member of the Governor's cabinet, serving as principal advisor and advocate for 2.8 million older adults and their families. ISD: The Information Systems Division (ISD) provides for the diverse technology needs of the department and Ohio’s aging network, supporting 25,000+ system users. Today’s approach to healthy aging is more holistic and connected than ever before. This means that our aging services platforms need to support a greater connected ecosystem where information and interoperability are essential for long-term success, person-centered care, and quality outcomes. Comprehensive platforms must connect the ecosystem to ensure that every part of the solution works together to create a positive, seamless experience, reducing manual work and advancing data analytics.

About the Role:

• Lead medium to large‑scale technology projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with agency goals for innovation and improved service delivery.
• Coordinate project activities through regular stand‑ups, stakeholder touch‑bases, and vendor communications, serving as a key representative for the agency.
• Apply Agile, waterfall, and other project management methodologies to plan, schedule, and monitor project progress, team responsibilities, and timelines.
• Identify, escalates, and resolve project issues and team conflicts quickly and effectively to maintain momentum and quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with software developers, business process analysts, and cross‑functional partners to document requirements, identify gaps, and support testing activities.
• Analyze resource needs, including financial and workforce capacity, to develop informed capacity plans and measure the impact of technology implementations.
• Support modernization efforts by understanding legacy systems and identifying opportunities for integration with new platforms and tools.
• Utilize visual and communication tools such as Gantt charts, process maps, charts, and graphs to clearly convey project status, requirements, and findings.

Qualifications

4 yrs. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation), with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g., specific human service program area, management information sciences, fiscal); 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.

-Or successful completion of 2 yrs. post-secondary education majoring in business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health, with major being commensurate with project to be assigned; 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects; 12 mos. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation).

Supplemental Information

Salary Information

Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be set at the lowest rate of the salary range. In most cases successful employees will move up a step in the salary range within six months, with subsequent step increases occurring every year as supported by successful performance evaluation results. We also offer cost of living adjustments, longevity supplements after five years of eligible public service, and wellness incentives.
