Job summary

Neovia Logistics in Coppell, TX seeks an IT Project Manager to plan and manage enterprise application implementation projects and coordinate with sponsors, IT teams, customers and business units to ensure strategic alignment.

You will lead a global, cross-functional team, oversee scope, budgets, timelines, risks and resources, and provide regular status updates. A PMP and 7+ years in logistics IT projects are preferred; some travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years implementing new sites or systems in logistics.
  • 5+ years leading large cross-functional IT projects; 3+ years in WMS/TMS.
  • Active PMP or similar project management certification.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate definition of project missions, goals, scope and resources.
  • Build and maintain project work plans, drive projects to completion.
  • Assess needs and resources to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with business, Application Implementation and IT teams.
  • Resolve issues across projects and functional areas.
  • Manage budget, cost recovery and resource allocations.
  • Assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure exceptional customer service and outputs; apply best practices.

  • Develop and refine standard PMO tools and processes; support travel as needed.

  • Responsible for the planning and management of primarily IT application implementation projects to meet project commitments as well as communicate with sponsors, IT teams, customers, business teams, etc.
  • Oversees team’s activities, providing guidance and mentoring. Provides effective scheduling, coaching, and oversight to a global/multi-regional team, which includes day-to-day support.
  • Partners with the business and technology leadership teams to support a consistent, enterprise-wide customer centric approach to application implementation project management in order to maximize the efficiency and predictability of project delivery and ensure alignment with company strategy and organizational goals.
  • Acts as a working project manager and manages large cross-functional projects across continents, including oversight over scope, budget, timelines, risks, issues, and assigned resources.
  • Provides clear status reporting and escalates issues as needed. Balances priorities and resource needs across multiple projects. Enforces, evangelizes and continuously improves Neovia PMO standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the definition and development of project missions, goals, scope, tasks, and resource requirements.
  • Build and maintain project work plans and proactively driving projects and all work assigned to completion.
  • Properly assess project needs and resources to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate project functions, tasks, and timings with business, Application Implementation and IT teams.
  • Resolve or assist in the resolution of issues within and between projects and/or functional areas.
  • Manage a project budget, cost recovery and resource allocations.
  • Manage project issues and perform risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Develop and communicate project status to project team, stakeholder and leadership on regular basis.
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and tangible outputs. Rely on industry standards, best practices, and qualitative & quantitative data to support and/or refine operations methodologies.
  • Proactively identifies and lead the implementation of opportunities for improvements in project management processes and best practices.
  • Assist with development and improvement of standard Project Manager tools and processes, and ensure use of standard tools.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned, including overnight and international travel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business, or an equivalent combination of related education, certification, and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience working on new site launches or system implementation projects in the logistics or supply chain industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing large, cross-functional IT projects, with at least 3 years in WMS and/or TMS implementations within the logistics or supply chain industry
  • Experience in using project management tools, and key methodologies such as 6 Sigma, ITIL, IT Development Methodology and PMBOK.
  • Active project management certification (e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP)).
Skills And Competencies
  • Technical proficiency in WMS software and/or related technologies.
  • Supply chain and contract logistics experience and business experience and knowledge
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously, and/or managing complex/challenging projects, without compromising quality.
  • Ability to perform well within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that requires the management of multiple projects at once, without compromising quality and service levels.
  • Must have strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, have exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills and pay specific attention to details.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to swiftly shift approach based on audience.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues/solutions in a manner that is easily understood and actionable despite the audience.
  • Ability to establish solid working relationships and partnerships with teams across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization, and with external vendors and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to operate and influence at a strategic level, maintain composure and professionalism
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of extremely sensitive data at all times.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various warehouse and office locations
