Lake Superior State University in Michigan is seeking an IT Programmer Analyst to analyze, design, code, document, and implement applications supporting Banner by Ellucian. You will work under the CIO in the Information Technology department to enhance Oracle-based administrative systems.

The role requires hands-on development with Java, Oracle PL/SQL, and related tools, along with SSO, cloud integrations, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Superior verbal and written skills in English.
• Experience with Oracle databases and Linux/Windows environments.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop scripts, programs and applications using Java and/or Oracle tools such as PL/SQL and SQL*Plus.
• Analyze system functions; lead or facilitate development of programming specifications.
• Provide reporting, data extraction, general processing, and analytical support to departments.
• Manage workload prioritizations and multi-task assignments with guidance.
• May serve as project leader on more complex projects.
• Setup, configure, and maintain SSO solutions for seamless authentication.
• Manage, deploy, and integrate cloud-based applications and services.
• Develop and maintain documentation as required.
• Assist DBA with maintenance of related systems.

Job Summary/Basic Function:

Reporting to the CIO, the IT Programmer Analyst will analyze, design, code, document and implement applications that support and enhance the University's Oracle-based administrative system, Banner by Ellucian.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop scripts, programs and applications using Java and/or Oracle tools such as PL/SQL and SQL*Plus, to meet the needs of users in support of the University's mission.
• Analyze system functions; lead or facilitate development of programming specifications.
• Provide reporting, data extraction, general processing, and analytical support to departments.
• Be able to, with guidance, self-manage workload prioritizations while maintaining positive momentum across multiple tasks/assignments.
• May serve as a project leader or be assigned to the more complex projects.
• Setup, configure, and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions, ensuring seamless and secure authentication for faculty, staff, and students across multiple platforms.
• Manage, deploy, and integrate cloud-based applications and services.
• Develop and maintain documentation as required.
• Assist Database administrator in maintenance of related systems.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Superior verbal and written skills, encompassing complete understanding of the English Language.

Preferred Qualifications:

Six years’ experience with hands-on applications development and relational database experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of Oracle databases, Linux and Windows environments.

Experience with one or more of the following languages, frameworks, technologies: Java/JavaScript, Oracle PL/SQL, HTML, Git, ProC, Argos, Perl, XML.

Experience with Ellucian Banner Systems.
