POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Program Manager is responsible for managing complex provider-facing technologies & solutions with multiple cross-team integration points using various methodologies. The IT Program Manager manages program schedules, costs, and quality proactively, making recommendations within the program objectives. This key role leverages technical knowledge, best practices, and organizational dynamics to remove impediments and mitigate issues and risks. The IT Program Manager will mentor others on agile, waterfall, and project management methodologies, driving towards continuous improvement. This is an individual contributor role focusing on managing a variety of IT-related projects.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage sub-project dependencies and program structures.
• Understand how agile and waterfall frameworks deliver business value and how practices can evolve.
• Identify the appropriate level of granularity for visibility and control.
• Communicate complex schedules and inter-dependencies clearly for stakeholders.
• Develop comprehensive schedules within multiple methodologies.
• Monitor future work to proactively adjust plans and resources, and identify scheduling trends.
• Identify, document, and communicate project risks and impediments at initiation and throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collect effort estimates and understand capacity to derive accurate durations.
• Plan and facilitate meetings such as backlog grooming, iteration planning, retrospectives, reviews, and daily stand-ups.
• Recommend deviations from standard processes and gain stakeholder consensus.
• Provide qualitative and quantitative status updates aligned with project success criteria and goals.
• Address quality issues directly with the team and communicate long-term solutions to stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Seven or more years of IT experience, including managing projects and leadership roles.
• Prior experience with Provider-Facing IT projects is highly desired.
• At least three years of Agile experience, with SAFe Agile experience recommended.
• Related certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with large-scale, technically complex projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in business software such as Microsoft Office, Clarity, MS Project, TFS, Jira.
• Ability to influence, manage conflicts, and encourage teamwork and divergent perspectives.
• Highly adaptable to changing environments and situational awareness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
