Stony Brook Medicine is seeking an IT Program Manager to lead highly complex IT programs from initiation through closure. The role requires coordinating across stakeholders, shaping strategic decisions at the senior level, and delivering measurable benefits through governance, planning, and execution.
Candidates should have 7+ years of IT experience in healthcare, a related degree (or equivalent 6–8 years PM/Integration Architect), and a PMP certification preferred.
At Stony Brook Medicine the IT Program Manager is a valuable member of our Information Technology team, who will be recognized as the expert in managing projects with a demonstrated record of success on highly complex business critical programs.
The IT Program Manager will be responsible for leading these programs from initiation through closure to achieve the program’s strategic objectives. Expected to help align and shape organizational and strategic decisions at the senior management level that affect program goals, and manage program activities at the senior leadership level. The successful candidate will have demonstrated complex program management skills and a successful track record of leading or managing multiple projects simultaneously. Includes measuring project results, creating status dashboards/scorecards, project definition, planning / scoping the work, establishing governance and stakeholders, organizing work meaningfully, developing work plans, designing appropriate solutions, implementing the solutions, managing change, communicating, and monitoring for ultimate impact/effectiveness.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $127,345 – $146,447 per year. The above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired. Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as location pay for UUP full‑time positions ($4,000). Your total compensation goes beyond the number in your paycheck.
