Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or related tech delivery role.
• Experience as a Product Owner in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Insurance industry experience (P&C) supporting policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing, or agency systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Product Owner for one or more Agile Scrum teams, maximizing product value via backlog management.
• Own and maintain the Product Backlog, ensuring transparency and alignment with business goals.
• Translate business needs into user stories, features, and acceptance criteria.
• Prioritize work based on value, regulatory requirements, risk, and dependencies.
• Participate in Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives with the Scrum team.
• Review and accept completed work to meet business needs and quality expectations.
• Act as liaison between business stakeholders and the Scrum team to drive product direction.

Beacon Technologies is seeking an IT Product Owner for our client partner. At our client, Product Owners play a critical role in connecting business strategy with technology delivery. We're seeking an experienced IT Product Owner to partner with business stakeholders and Agile Scrum teams to shape insurance technology solutions that support underwriting, claims, policy administration, billing, and agency operations across Wisconsin. This is an opportunity to play a key role in technology modernization efforts, influence strategic priorities, and make a visible impact within an organization that has been serving Wisconsin for more than 90 years.

This position offers remote or hybrid flexibility for Wisconsin-based employees with periodic on-site presence required based on business needs. Candidates must reside and work in Wisconsin and be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst, or related technology delivery role.
• Experience serving as a Product Owner or performing Product Owner responsibilities within an Agile Scrum environment.
• Property & Casualty insurance industry experience supporting insurance technology platforms, including exposure to policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing, rating, or agency systems.
• Demonstrated experience managing and prioritizing Product Backlogs to deliver measurable business value.
• Experience translating business requirements into user stories, features, and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements and their impact on technology delivery and prioritization.
• Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills across business and technical audiences.
• Experience using data and performance metrics to support product decisions and prioritization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or similar Agile certification.
• Experience supporting enterprise modernization, digital transformation, or large-scale system initiatives.
• Familiarity with scaling Agile frameworks and portfolio-level planning.
• Knowledge of business analysis practices, including requirements elicitation, backlog refinement, and traceability.
• Familiarity with IT service management practices, including release, change, and incident management.
• Experience with project management methodologies, SDLC practices, and governance processes.
• Experience working with AI-enabled productivity and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Product Owner for one or more Agile Scrum teams, maximizing product value through effective backlog management and prioritization.
• Own and maintain the Product Backlog, ensuring work is transparent, prioritized, and aligned with business goals.
• Define and communicate Product Goals and partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into user stories, features, and acceptance criteria.
• Prioritize work based on business value, customer impact, regulatory requirements, risk, and dependencies.
• Participate in Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives, partnering closely with the Scrum Master and development team to support successful delivery.
• Review and accept completed work, ensuring solutions meet business needs and quality expectations.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the Scrum team, facilitating communication, trade-off decisions, and product direction.
• Collaborate with business and technology partners to support modernization initiatives and the long-term evolution of insurance systems and platforms.
• Monitor product performance and business outcomes, using data and metrics to inform future priorities and continuous improvement.
