Job summary

The Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) in Illinois seeks a Procurement Specialist to plan, execute, control, and evaluate the operation and processing of purchases under the assigned portfolio, including receiving and analyzing purchase requests.

You will provide technical assistance and guidance to management, end users, and supporting personnel in determining the technical specifications for the solicitation and process procurements through the State electronic procurement system.

Qualifications

Requires a 4-year college degree preferably in business or public administration.
Minimum 1 year of administrative experience in procurement or contracting.
Experience with fiscal, procurement, or contracting functions and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

Plan, execute, control, and evaluate purchases within the portfolio.
Provide technical guidance to management and end users on procurement needs.
Process requisitions, bids, and purchase orders in the State procurement system.
Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements.
Support documentation for audits and FOIA requests.
