Job summary

Basin Electric Power Cooperative, located at our headquarters in Bismarck, ND, is seeking an IT Project Portfolio Analyst to align IT projects with strategic objectives. You will work with IT and business leaders to develop business cases, prioritize projects, manage risks, and maintain communication plans across IT initiatives.

The role involves maintaining an inventory of IT projects, coordinating requests from concept to initiation, identifying impediments, and building a multi-year roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related discipline with 3 years IT experience.
• Associate’s degree with 5 years IT experience in a related field.
• HS diploma or equivalent with 7 years IT experience.
• Experience leading IT projects or IT project portfolios with cross-functional teams and multiple business units.
• Willing to pursue CAPM, Project+ or equivalent within 12 months of hire.
• Valid driver's license; occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support IT project portfolio management activities to align with strategic objectives.
• Help develop business cases and prioritize IT projects and initiatives.
• Maintain inventory of IT projects and reassess priorities.
• Coordinate IT project requests from concept to initiation.
• Identify impediments and work with stakeholders to mitigate impacts.
• Collaborate to establish a multi-year IT project roadmap.
• Contribute to budgeting and monitor IT project expenditures.
• Assist in project intake and continuous improvement of PM processes.
