Job summary

Austin Industries is seeking a Director of IT PMO to lead governance, portfolio management, and delivery standards for enterprise IT initiatives from our Dallas headquarters. You will align technology investments with business priorities across office and field operations and drive PMO maturity.

The role partners with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and vendors to optimize resources, control costs, and deliver measurable business value in a complex, project-based construction environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive project or program management experience, including PMO leadership.
• Strong understanding of enterprise applications and construction tech platforms; ERP and data analytics.
• PMP, PgMP, PfMP, Prosci, Agile or related portfolio/change management certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain PMO standards, governance, intake, prioritization, stage-gate, and benefits-realization processes.
• Manage the IT project portfolio balancing strategic value, operational impact, business demand, budget, risk, dependencies, and capacity.
• Facilitate executive portfolio reviews, steering committee meetings, and timely decision-making and escalation processes.
• Develop practical governance that supports enterprise initiatives and field operations.
• Ensure delivery across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid initiatives, selecting the approach appropriate to project size, risk, and business need.
• Monitor scope, schedule, budget, quality, dependencies, risks, issues, change control, and expected business outcomes across the portfolio.
• Partner with construction operations and corporate functions to deliver technology solutions that improve project execution, safety, quality, estimating, procurement, workforce management, financial operations, and client service.
• Promote effective rollout, training, communication, and adoption of technology across office, field, and project-based teams.
• Coordinate technology deployments with operational schedules to minimize disruption to active projects and jobsites.
• Manage PMO budgets, project financial controls, forecasting, resource planning, and portfolio-level cost visibility.
• Oversee vendor project performance, professional services engagements, contractual deliverables, and the effective use of internal and external resources.
• Partner with Finance, Procurement, Legal, and business leaders to support sound investment decisions and vendor accountability.
