Job summary

The Chemours Company in Patterson, GA is seeking a Process Control Technician to maintain and optimize industrial process control systems (PLC, HMI) and related equipment within an IT/OT team. You will support incident investigations, project startup, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with Electrical/Instrumentation, Operations, Technical, and Engineering to ensure reliable operations, implement changes, and maintain accurate configuration

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with relevant certifications.
• Certificate in Programmable Logic Control (PLC) or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of operational experience in an industrial plant.
• Computer hardware skills.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Electrical certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair process control systems (PLC, HMI) and peripherals to support production.
• Provide technical assistance for troubleshooting and incident investigations.
• Assist with installation, checkout, and startup of process control projects.
• Perform backups, patching, antivirus updates, and inventory control of process control systems.
• Configure control systems per guidance from engineers and operations for safe manufacturing tasks.
• Identify downtime causes and coordinate actions to maximize plant availability.
• Contribute to plant efficiency through process improvements and error reduction.
• Support instrumentation calibration and documentation; assist with plant upgrades.
• Work with site electricians for fault finding and repairs.
