Description

The IT Operations & Support Technician Senior installs, maintains, and troubleshoots computer hardware and software. This position is responsible to resolve diverse end user and system problems. Performs related work.

Essential Functions

• Provides a wide range of technical assistance to system users;
• Assists in server maintenance and updates involving the user of Hyper-V;
• Installs software, hardware and cables, including non-standard configurations;
• Manages most day-to-day aspects of networks and server performance;
• May work as part of a team or work independently on small projects with supervision;
• Support and maintain the phone system;
• Resolves diverse problems and queries received from users requiring troubleshooting for solutions;
• Supports testing and documentation activities;
• Creates windows workstation for deployment;
• Repairs desktop computers when issues arise;

Education and Experience

• Good working knowledge of computer trends, software capabilities, and terminology;
• Experience working with computer hardware and software installation and troubleshooting;
• Experience working with network systems, evaluating and resolving computer, system, and user problems including compatibility conflicts, applications, hardware malfunctions, and telecommunication problems;
• Experience installing and maintaining computer hardware, software, and peripherals in the network and/or multiplatform environment;
• Experience providing one-to-one IT training

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer;
• Bending, stooping and crawling under desks and tight places;
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times;
• May be required to travel within the local service area.
