Job summary

Tanium is hiring an Operations Engineer to provision, install/configure, operate, and maintain systems hardware and software with a focus on R&D support. You will participate in R&D to enable innovation across Tanium’s infrastructure while ensuring hardware and software are secure and well maintained.

The role involves traveling on short notice, managing daily operations, and developing automation tools. Strong problem-solving, collaboration with DevOps, and IT governance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience required.
• 2-3 years relevant work experience.
• Experience with Meraki network hardware and web interface.
• Direct experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
• Experience managing DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
• Familiar with monitoring/analytics tools (Nagios, Splunk, CheckMK, DataDog).
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Travel on short notice for network troubleshooting as needed.
• Manage day-to-day operations of Tanium’s infrastructure.
• Plan short and long-term IT goals and direction.
• Develop automation tools for IT services.
• Follow change management processes.
• Document system configurations and maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering to resolve operational challenges.
