Job summary

Plano ISD is seeking an entry-level Operations Technician to support district IT hardware lifecycle. You will drive district vehicles for laptop and device deliveries, assist in staging moves, and maintain asset data integrity across campuses.

You will work under supervision with technicians, handling high-volume repairs, inventory audits, and event support for major district activities. This role requires a valid CDL/driver's license and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school certificate or Associate's degree preferred in IT, Electronics, Data Analytics, or Business Admin.
  • Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA A+ are preferred.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record required.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily field logistics and route support across campus deliveries.
  • Support full-scale technology moves and event logistics.
  • Enforce chain-of-custody and verify asset counts before departure.
  • Assist in inventory data entry and IT asset management.
  • Perform high-volume repair provisioning of hardware as supervised.
  • Support warranty and RMAs with parts and vendor coordination.
  • Conduct safety and material handling duties in warehouse and on campus.
  • Assist in summer EOY device retrieval and surge support.
