Job summary

Traffic Safe NZ Ltd seeks an IT Operations & Support Engineer at our head office in Takanini. You will deliver hands-on IT support to staff, manage devices, SaaS apps, and ensure reliable access to business systems.

This role combines operational IT tasks with opportunities to contribute to software development and security practices, while collaborating with operations, admin, HR, and finance teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of IT support, desktop support, service desk, or IT operations experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace administration.
• Experience supporting Windows laptops, macOS devices, mobile devices, printers, and business apps.
• Experience onboarding/offboarding, provisioning, group management, and access control.
• Strong networking fundamentals including Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, VPN.
• Experience with ticketing systems, asset registers, and documentation.
• Ability to manage SaaS licenses, subscriptions, and vendor requests.
• Excellent communication and customer-service mindset.
• Independent work style with task prioritization and issue resolution.
• Basic cyber security awareness and incident escalation knowledge.
• Foundational programming concepts (C#/Java/JavaScript) to support code-level troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 IT support for staff across devices, apps, and collaboration tools.
• Configure, issue, track, and recover company hardware and peripherals.
• Maintain accurate inventory of laptops, tablets, phones, and accessories.
• Manage user accounts, licences and permissions across Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
• Onboard and offboard staff by provisioning devices and access.
• Manage SaaS licenses, renewals, and vendor contacts with finance.
• Troubleshoot printers, meeting-room tech, network issues, and common app problems.
• Maintain IT documentation, checklists, and vendor records.
• Coordinate with external vendors and MSPs on IT services.
• Contribute to internal IT processes, workflows, and security practices.
