Job summary

Sun Tran in Tucson, AZ is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead daily IT operations and align technology with agency goals. The role blends strategic planning with hands-on support, ensuring secure, reliable services for public transportation operations.

You will oversee help desk, network admin, security, and project delivery while developing SOPs and documentation. A bachelor's degree and 5+ years' IT leadership are required; a valid driver's license is also needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field (or equivalent).
• Five years of IT systems, help desk, and network administration experience.
• Advanced technical knowledge of computer systems, OS, networking, hardware and software administration.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Administering help desk operations and provide technical support to end users.
• Installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting workstations, software, equipment, and proprietary platform hardware.
• Developing and implementing technology goals, policies, standards and system improvements.
• Managing network administration firewalls, core infrastructure, data backups, disaster recovery, and communications systems in coordination with City IT.
• Leading technology projects, evaluating system performance, and planning upgrades/replacements.
• Preparing technical specifications, procuring IT equipment and software and network asset inventories.
• Developing and maintaining SOPs, technical documentation and end-user support materials.
• Administering security badge systems, building access control, and specialized operational software.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
