Job summary

Blue Mantis is seeking a seasoned IT Network Operations Engineer to support enterprise-class data centers and ensure high network availability for game-day operations. The role focuses on server and cloud support while maintaining a strong networking focus across diverse technologies.

The candidate will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize networks in a high-pressure environment, coordinating across teams to deliver reliable fan experiences on game days and holidays. On-site schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience in IT.
• CCNA/CCNP and ITIL certifications preferred.
• Experience in multisite, enterprise-class data centers and game-day operations.

Responsibilities

• System Monitoring using SolarWinds and DataDog to ensure reliability and performance.
• Lead incident management, meet SLAs, and escalate issues as needed.
• Implement and support secure networking solutions across on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Create and maintain detailed network documentation including topology maps.

Key Responsibilities

• System Monitoring: Leverage platforms such as SolarWinds and DataDog to ensure network reliability and performance.
• Incident Management: Lead network-related incident resolution, ensuring SLAs are met and escalating issues when necessary.
• Security Best Practices: Implement and support secure networking solutions, ensuring robust protection in on-premise and cloud environments.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including topology maps and procedures for troubleshooting.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Skills

• Strong experience Cisco Nexus/Arista/Meraki Switches, Cisco Wireless Controllers, Windows, Linux, and Unix environments using the ServiceNOW ticketing system.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, routing protocols, and network monitoring tools like SolarWinds.
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to dynamic priorities.

Preferred Skills

• Network troubleshooting in data center environments. (Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki, Arista)
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automating server and cloud operations.
• Familiarity with cloud-based networking solutions in AWS, Azure, or O365 environments.
• Knowledge of infrastructure capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with security best practices, SIEM platforms, and endpoint protection.
• Experience with advanced video streaming technologies and CDNs.
• Familiarity with infrastructure performance tuning and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• Provide game day support on major holidays when games are played.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP (or equivalent) ITIL and technical certifications in, servers and/ or cloud (preferred).
• Experience: Demonstrated expertise in a complex, multisite environment.
