Job summary

ZELIS is seeking an IT Operations Analyst to support operational aspects of its payment processing system. This role involves monitoring system performance, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with clients for resolution.

The ideal candidate will possess a foundational proficiency in SQL, experience with backend processing, and the ability to develop automated solutions. A degree or 4 years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience monitoring and managing a .NET application is a plus.
  • Health-insurance claim adjudication knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with different file formats (fixed length, delimited, XML) is a plus.

Job Description

The IT Operations Analyst will be responsible for supporting all operational aspects of the Zelis payment processing system.

Responsibilities
  • Support all operational aspects of the Zelis payment system; inclusive of monitoring the system to ensure accurate file import and export.
  • Troubleshoot files that error out and other production‑related issues; elevate time‑sensitive solutions as needed.
  • Utilize LINQ and/or SQL to analyze incidents and problems and develop scripted solutions.
  • Troubleshoot production client issues including but not limited to file structure, data integrity, load failures, and file transmission failures while utilizing tools such as LINQ or SQL to research and correct.
  • Develop automated solutions to frequent issues, interfacing with the Automation team as needed.
  • Communicate with clients and channel partners for production resolution and ticket closure.
  • Maintain awareness of and ensure adherence to Zelis standard regarding privacy.
  • Build strong, trusting team relationships within the Operations Department and across the organization—System Support, Development Support, DBA/SQL, Client Services, and Quality Assurance—to maintain client satisfaction.
Technical Skills / Knowledge
  • Ability to be part of a rotating on‑call schedule to address escalated issues off‑hours.
  • Foundational proficiency in ensuring seamless system operations, inclusive of backend processing, payment routing, processing, and security measures.
  • Understanding of SQL query language; ability to learn new query languages as needed.
  • Intermediate knowledge of various transmission protocols, including FTP and SFTP.
  • Participation in maintenance/release activities, development of maintenance windows, application up/down, performance release verification, and maintaining internal/external notifications throughout.
  • Assist in training other Operations Analysts regarding standard operating procedures, internal applications, and project knowledge.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
