Job summary

NC Community Colleges is seeking an IT/Networking and Security Instructor to deliver student-centered, high-quality learning experiences. You will design courses, use active learning, and foster an inclusive environment while supporting student success and ongoing professional growth.

The role involves teaching 18 contact hours per semester across in-person, online, or hybrid formats, with campus-based responsibilities and office hours to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Certified to teach CCNA curriculum courses in Cisco Networking Academy.
• Skills/experience/credentials in network management and security with hardware/software support.

Responsibilities

• Carry a teaching load of 18 contact hours per fall and spring semester.
• Teach in-person, online, or hybrid classes with professional delivery.
• Maintain required office hours each semester and develop syllabi.
• Develop and assess assignments aligned with program outcomes and general education competencies.
• Ensure timely communication with the division chair regarding illnesses or emergencies.
• Create assessments to promote critical thinking and student engagement.
• Support student learning through supplementary resources and tutoring referrals.
• Participate in institutional effectiveness planning and program improvement.
