Thurston County Government’s Information Technology Department is seeking an IT Supervisor to lead a nine-member Network Team responsible for planning, installation, maintenance, and operation of the County’s LAN/WAN, security, and data-communication systems.

The role requires budgeting, staff development, and coordinating large-scale infra projects, with hybrid work after probation, in Olympia, WA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information, GIS or related field. Five years' progressive responsibility, including at least two in a supervisory role.
• Thorough knowledge of programming languages, database products, and integration techniques on multiple computing platforms.
• Driver's license and ability to obtain security background clearance.
• Employment contingent on security background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Lead a nine-member Network Team to install, maintain, and operate county networks.
• Plan and manage budgets, staff workloads, and priorities.
• Develop procedures and performance standards; evaluate staff.
• Oversee security, access controls, and disaster recovery for IT systems.
• Coordinate large-scale infrastructure projects including data centers and relocations.
