Responsibilities

The Network Engineering Manager shall support GSA Enterprise Infrastructure and Platform Management services including managed hosting and unmanaged hosting (Platform-as-a-Service/Infrastructure-as-a-Service (PaaS/IaaS)), server installation, O/S loading, system hardening in accordance with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) security requirements, installation of patches, application and system back-ups, and restoration. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Support a legacy architecture and be able to simultaneously convert and support existing and future Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) architecture
  • Management of software platforms running on-premise such as the vCloud Suite and a mixed Hyper-converged (HCI) environment running vSAN and Nutanix converged storage
  • Design, Operate, and maintain VRealize Automation (vRA) engine integrated with ServiceNow, Ansible, and Jenkins to provide provisioning configurations, policy, and governance management
  • Monitor LAN system and network performance, troubleshoot and resolve complex problems to ensure no disruption of services
  • Drive technological innovation through research and technology assessments, developing roadmaps for technology replacement
  • Maintain all relevant documentation
  • Translate technical and business requirements into enterprise-level designs, validate in test environments, and provide knowledge transfer
  • Provide technical leadership and serve as the technical point of contact for projects
  • Analyze and solve technical problems, communicate effectively with internal clients
  • Assist with knowledge transfer, evaluate new technologies and services
  • Perform Tier 3/Level III operational engineering and management, providing advanced support
  • Coordinate with vendors, manage technical pilots and projects, recommend procedures and controls
  • Maintain and document managed assets, ensure security procedures are implemented
  • Monitor resource utilization, oversee monitoring and management systems
  • Develop automation scripts, support technology planning, and optimize applications and infrastructure
  • Utilize AIOps for proactive evaluation and remediation
  • Ensure service delivery according to specifications, support after-hours activities, review timesheets and expense reports, supervise team performance
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Certifications required:

  • Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • ITIL Foundation or Practitioner v.4
  • DevSecOps FoundationSM from DevOps Institute

Experience Required:

  • 10-15 Years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 15 years' experience in IT networking with increasing responsibility
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant IT discipline
  • Experience managing complex voice, video, and data networks
  • Strong communication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting and standing for long periods, mobility within the office and between buildings, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as required
