Job summary

General Matter in Paducah, KY is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee our IT systems, drive security, and scale infrastructure to support our mission-driven engineering teams.

You will collaborate with engineers to deploy Microsoft enterprise platforms, ensure uptime, implement automation, and maintain reliable, secure multi‑platform environments. The role requires flexibility for extended hours to meet critical needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or 5+ years of professional systems administration in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of experience with Windows-based systems and services in both physical and virtual environments.
• 5+ years of experience with Active Directory, Kerberos, Entra ID, and multi-platform authentication/identification environments.
• Experience with servers in physical and virtualized environments.
• Experience in monitoring mission-critical enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Work with General Matter engineers to design, deploy, and support Microsoft enterprise software platforms and related technologies.
• Manage and maintain highly resilient, high-performance, scalable, and flexible systems.
• Implement improvements using change control methodology.
• Collaborate with internal business units to design and deliver solutions and resolve problems promptly.
• Define, document and follow standards and best practices for systems design, testing, and implementation.
• Ensure uptime of critical systems and drive security and performance improvements.
• Build automation at scale to improve overall efficiency.
