Job description

CorVel Corporation seeks an energetic IT Manager to lead teams supporting our business applications both on-premise and in the cloud. The candidate should have experience leading IT teams supporting internally developed applications host on premise and the cloud, be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.

This is a remote role in Pacific/ Mountain time zones.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee daily operations of the team, including conducting meetings, managing projects, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring operational excellence.
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise in the areas managed by the team.
  • Remove obstacles to enable the team to perform optimally and meet deadlines.
  • Ensure quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
  • Work with minimal supervision to achieve the objectives of the department and the organization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in managing a technical team with operational responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in supporting .NET applications and other Microsoft technologies.
  • Expertise in supporting Azure PaaS-based applications.
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects, consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with modern server operating systems and application architecture.
  • Experience in implementing best practices for both performance and security.
  • Skill in creating DevOps pipelines for deploying custom applications.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities as well as technical and non-technical skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Adaptability and a readiness to respond to changing priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting custom applications developed by internal teams.
  • Proficiency in on-premises and cloud security hardening practices.
  • Expertise in advanced Windows Server management.
  • Advanced proficiency in scripting languages, including PowerShell, SQL, and KQL.
  • Experience with Azure Automation.
  • Background in preserving assets, information security, and implementing control structures.
  • Knowledgeable in implementing Windows Server best practices for security and performance.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and its application in systems administration.
  • Proven experience managing tasks using ServiceNow or other IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms.

PAY RANGE:

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

In general, our opportunities will be posted for up to 1 year from date of posting, or until we have selected candidate(s) to fulfill the opening, whichever comes first.
