Job summary

ERock is a Houston-based energy tech leader delivering reliable, scalable IT services for a distributed, mission-critical environment. The IT Manager will oversee end-user support, infrastructure, and security while driving automation and operational excellence.

You will lead a multi-location team, shape IT strategy, manage projects, and partner with security and apps teams to ensure uptime and business continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field.
• 7+ years in IT operations with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience leading teams and delivering IT services in fast-paced environments.
• Automation experience (PowerShell, scripting, workflow automation).
• Proven ITSM, ticketing and service desk leadership skills.
• Strong networks, servers, and end-user tech knowledge.
• Experience with vendor management and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day IT operations across end-user support, systems, and infrastructure.
• Own the helpdesk function with workflows, SLAs, and knowledge base.
• Escalation point for complex IT issues with clear stakeholder communication.
• Oversee asset lifecycle, licenses, and software subscriptions.
• Manage onboarding/offboarding, secure provisioning, and access control.
• Collaborate with infra, security, and apps teams to maintain reliability.
• Ensure data backup, DR, and business continuity plans are tested.
• Develop and enforce IT policies and security standards.
• Lead IT staff, hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Plan and execute IT projects within budget and schedule.
• Manage vendor relationships and performance.
• Drive automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
• Identify process optimizations and deploy automation tools.
