Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on IT Manager to lead our technology operations while actively supporting the organization's IT infrastructure. This role is ideal for a technically proficient leader who enjoys balancing strategic oversight with day-to-day execution. The IT Manager will oversee the organization's technology environment, including network infrastructure, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and end-user support. In addition to leading the IT team, this individual will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical hardware, software, and networking technologies to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable operations.

Key Responsibilities
IT Leadership & Operations
  • Lead the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise technology systems.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop IT staff, including network engineers, system administrators, and desktop support personnel.
  • Prioritize IT initiatives and implement technology solutions that align with organizational objectives.
  • Manage relationships with hardware, software, telecommunications, and managed service vendors.
  • Maintain IT asset inventories, technical documentation, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure business continuity through effective backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and system availability.
  • Monitor IT performance metrics and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, reliability, and security.
Network & Infrastructure Management
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco networking technologies, including Catalyst and Nexus switches, routers, ASA and Firepower firewalls, and Cisco Meraki or Wireless LAN Controller environments.
  • Design, implement, and support secure Layer 2 and Layer 3 network architectures, including VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network, connectivity, and infrastructure issues across multiple locations.
  • Support virtualization platforms, cloud connectivity, and enterprise network monitoring solutions.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and ongoing maintenance initiatives.
Systems, Security & Communications
  • Administer Microsoft 365 and related Microsoft technologies to support productivity, collaboration, and security.
  • Support enterprise cybersecurity initiatives, including firewall administration, endpoint protection, identity and access management, and threat mitigation.
  • Manage access control systems, including Verkada.
  • Support Cisco Unified Communications Manager, fax server solutions, and collaboration platforms such as Zoom.
  • Monitor and maintain enterprise security controls while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and industry best practices.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Support compliance initiatives related to regulatory and security standards, including HIPAA and PCI.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve operational effectiveness and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Promote continuous improvement across IT operations through proactive planning, automation, and process optimization.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive IT experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering Cisco networking equipment and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise networking, cybersecurity, VoIP, and systems administration.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools such as Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, or similar solutions.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP.
  • Experience supporting highly available enterprise environments with multiple locations.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • This is a full-time, onsite position.
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment with service dogs, including exposure to dog dander and animal hair.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and perform typical computer-based work throughout the day.
  • Standard work schedule is approximately 40 hours per week; however, flexibility is required, including occasional evenings, weekends, and extended hours to support organizational events, technology implementations, or emergency situations.
