Job summary

Gigantes Group is seeking experienced IT/Low Voltage Estimators to join our expanding estimating team in the New York, Boston, and Maryland/DC markets. You will review plans, perform take-offs, and develop accurate estimates for complex technology infrastructure projects across commercial, healthcare, education and government environments.

Success requires 3+ years in project estimating, strong cost analysis skills, and the ability to interpret drawings and bid documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Project Estimating experience.
• Experience within IT infrastructure, structured cabling, communications or low-voltage systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Experience performing take-offs and developing project proposals.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, bid packages and project requirements.
• Perform project take-offs and determine scope prior to bid submission.
• Develop accurate estimates covering labour, materials and equipment.
• Collaborate with Design Engineers to understand system layouts and project requirements.
• Prepare detailed proposals and supporting estimating documentation.
• Assist with pricing and preparation of project change orders.
• Review competitive bids and adjust estimates with Estimating leadership.
• Identify project cost drivers and potential financial risks.
• Track project costs against budgets and forecasts.
• Support Operations and Business Development throughout bidding.

The Opportunity

A leading technology systems integrator is expanding its estimating team and looking for experienced IT / Low Voltage Estimators across New York, Boston and the Maryland/DC market.

This position will work closely with Operations, Business Development and Design teams to review project plans, specifications and bid requirements, developing accurate estimates for complex technology infrastructure projects.

Projects can include structured cabling, communications, IT infrastructure and wider low-voltage systems across large commercial, corporate, healthcare, education and government environments.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, bid packages and project requirements
• Perform project take-offs and determine scope prior to bid submission
• Develop accurate estimates covering labour, materials and equipment
• Work alongside Design Engineers to understand system layouts and project requirements
• Prepare detailed proposals and supporting estimating documentation
• Assist with pricing and preparation of project change orders
• Review competitive bids and make adjustments alongside Estimating leadershipIdentify project cost drivers and potential financial risks
• Track project costs against initial budgets and forecasts
• Support Operations and Business Development throughout the bidding process

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of Project Estimating experience
• Previous experience within IT infrastructure, structured cabling, communications or low-voltage systems
• Strong understanding of labour and material estimating
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Experience performing take-offs and developing project proposals
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify key cost drivers
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to communicate complex cost information clearly
• Experience working with Design, Operations and/or Business Development teams

Experience estimating structured cabling and communications projects is particularly relevant.
