Job summary

design Data, Inc. is seeking a Logistics Intern to support the IT assets and logistics team in Gaithersburg, MD.

You will assist with inventory management, equipment preparation, shipping and receiving, asset tracking, and e-cycling activities while gaining practical experience in IT logistics and business operations. This internship offers exposure to hardware deployment, asset documentation, and process improvement within a professional office environment.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills and comfort with data entry.
• Ability to lift and move packages and equipment with safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical and operational tasks to support the Logistics Coordinator and Director of Internal Operations.
• Assist in pulling inventory and returning equipment in designated team storage areas.
• Assist in receiving incoming hardware shipments and verify contents.
• Help prepare, package, and label equipment for shipment to clients and internal staff.
• Update inventory and ticketing systems to maintain accurate asset records.
• Apply asset tags to new equipment and ensure proper documentation.
• Help reset and prepare returned computers for redeployment or e-cycle.
• Assist with the identification, organization, and processing of retired equipment for e-cycling.
• Help maintain an organized inventory, staging, and storage area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
