Job summary

General Matter, Inc. is seeking an Information Technology Intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience supporting IT systems, infrastructure, and end-user services in a highly regulated environment.

You will work with experienced IT and security staff on projects spanning systems administration, network support, endpoint management, and IT compliance, collaborating with cross-functional teams across engineering and manufacturing disciplines.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Foundational understanding of computer systems, networking, and IT operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day‑to‑day IT support, including hardware/software troubleshooting, account provisioning, and helpdesk ticket resolution.
• Support the administration and maintenance of endpoints, servers, and network infrastructure, including patching, backups, and asset tracking.
• Help implement and validate IT security controls (e.g., MFA, endpoint protection, access management) under the guidance of the IT and security teams.
• Support user access reviews, system health checks, and IT policy compliance activities.
• Contribute to internal documentation, including setup guides, runbooks, and IT knowledge base articles.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding workflows, equipment deployment, and conference room / office technology support.
• Participate in IT projects such as software rollouts, systems migrations, and process automation.
• Support audit and compliance readiness efforts by organizing documentation and assisting with internal IT reviews.
