Job summary

South Ogden City is seeking a part-time IT Support Specialist to keep City technology running smoothly. This role is ideal for a college student pursuing an IT-related degree who wants hands-on experience while studying.

You will provide first-line support, troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity, install and maintain computers and peripherals, support city applications and public-safety tech, assist with network tasks, and collaborate with staff and external IT professionals.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent and pursuing education in a related IT field.
• Approximately one year of related IT experience or an equivalent education/experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers, hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• A valid Utah driver's license.
• Ability to pass a BCI background check.

This is a part-time position with flexible hours and would be a great opportunity for a college student pursuing a degree in IT, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field who wants to gain hands‑on experience while attending school.

Municipal IT provides exposure to a wide variety of technology and operations. One day you may be troubleshooting an employee's workstation, and the next you may be assisting with public‑safety technology, network connectivity, or a Citywide IT project.

With part‑time, flexible hours, this position is especially well suited for a college student looking to build practical IT experience while continuing their education.

Starting hourly rate $24 to $29 depending on experience.
