Job summary

Lumentis is seeking an IT Intern to provide hands-on end-user support and assist with hardware/software deployment in Novi, MI. You will help document IT procedures and participate in technology projects as part of a collaborative team.

The role emphasizes learning, cybersecurity awareness, and compliance while following Health and Safety policies. Open to students pursuing IT-related degrees with relevant coursework or experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Strong interest in information technology and technical support.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program.
• Prior technical support, coursework, or project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and basic network-related issues.
• Assist with computer setup, imaging, deployment, and equipment replacement activities.
• Support user onboarding and offboarding processes, including account setup, access requests, and equipment tracking.
• Troubleshoot and resolve routine technical issues under the guidance of IT team members.
• Assist in maintaining IT asset inventories and documentation.
• Support software installation, updates, and license tracking activities.
• Help maintain IT procedures, work instructions, and knowledge base documentation.
• Assist with conference room technology set up and troubleshooting.
• Support cybersecurity initiatives and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with IT team members on technology improvement projects.
• Follow all applicable Health and Safety processes and Company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.

Overview of the Role

The IT Intern provides technical and administrative support to the Information Technology team while gaining hands-on experience in a professional business environment. This role assists with end-user support, hardware and software deployment, IT documentation, and technology-related projects
