Job summary

Housing Visions Unlimited, Inc in Syracuse is seeking an IT intern to provide first-line support, maintain devices, and help with software and network upkeep. You will work with a dedicated staff in a nonprofit setting and gain exposure to security systems, VOIP, and daily IT operations. This internship offers hands-on learning and the chance to contribute to community services.

The role involves working Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-5:30pm, at 1201 E. Fayette St.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff across all offices.
• Help maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and A/V equipment.
• Assist with monitoring, maintenance, and upgrades of network infrastructure and software applications.
• Create new user accounts and configure required permissions and access rights.
• Assist with hardware and software installations and office equipment setups.
• Help maintain the organization’s IT inventory records.
• Support the VOIP phone system, door access, and building security systems.
• Develop and deliver basic computer training materials and reference guides for staff.
• Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to the organization’s IT needs.

Our IT team plays a vital role in supporting staff who work every day to strengthen communities. As an intern, you will be part of a team that values growth and contributions. You will be based out of our corporate office located at 1201 E. Fayette St. Work schedule is Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:30pm. The pay range is $17-$20 DOE.
