Job summary

Gaston College is seeking a 9-month Instructor- Information Technology to teach day and evening IT courses at multiple sites. A Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field is required, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Full-time regular faculty responsibilities include course delivery, syllabus alignment, and assessment. Experience with cybersecurity teaching is preferred; familiarity with Blackboard/Canvas is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and evaluate courses in classroom and lab settings.
• Provide syllabus-based instruction and timely assessments.
• Maintain class records and submit reports on time.
• Stay current with technology and instructional methods.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in committee work.
• Support Gaston College’s Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) designation efforts.
• Attend department, division, and college meetings; participate in graduation.
