ARUP Laboratories is seeking an IT Infrastructure Systems Administrator II to join the IT Systems Administration team in Salt Lake City, UT. The role supports enterprise compute and storage, including Windows and Linux OS, Active Directory, VDI, SAN/NAS, and backup infrastructure.
The position schedules Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with a focus on maintaining stable, secure, and scalable IT environments for ARUP’s reference laboratory services.

Primary Purpose :
The Systems Administrator Level-2 is part of a small team which supports multiple enterprise compute and storage systems including Windows and Linux Enterprise OS, Active Directory, VDI and Virtualized infrastructure, SAN and NAS storage, and Backup infrastructure technologies.

Physical and Other Requirements :
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicate with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.
High School Diploma or Equivalent or better.
Four (4) years of continuous Enterprise level IT Systems Administration experienceOR two (2) years of continuous experience and appropriate IT Certification
Competence in Windows & Linux Server OS
Competence in Windows Desktop OS
Competence in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
Competence in Active Directory services
Knowledge of SAN or NAS solutions
Knowledge of Backup services and processes
College Degree in IT Systems or related field
Relevant Technology Certifications
Knowledge of Disaster Recovery processes
Knowledge of Hyperconverged technologies
Familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure services
