Job summary

Tanium is hiring an IT Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and manage our hybrid systems, ensuring availability, security, and efficient operation. The role centers on systems administration across Linux, Windows, and VMware, with cloud and automation emphasis in Azure/AWS/GCP environments.

Based in a hybrid schedule requiring three days in the office across Durham, NC, Addison, TX, Bellevue, WA, or Emeryville, CA, you will deploy, scale, and automate critical infrastructure while

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a Systems Administrator, Operations Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or similar.
• Strong Linux, Windows and VMware administration and deployment experience.
• Direct admin experience with cloud computing & networking environments (Azure preferred, AWS, GCP).
• Scripting experience with Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting.
• Experience with backups, high availability, and resiliency for cloud/on-prem
• Familiarity with monitoring/management of enterprise systems on physical and cloud infra.
• IaC toolsets – Terraform, Vault; Configuration Management with Ansible (Preferred).
• Experience with SAN storage arrays and troubleshooting.
• Ability to estimate/manage cloud usage costs; familiarity with cost-control measures.
• Familiarity with CI tools like GitHub Actions; Docker/Kubernetes experience.
• Collaborates with Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, GRC, Product Engineering to drive cloud/on‑prem decisions.

• Solve incidents and admin tasks related to infrastructure services.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
• Be a team player, adaptable, self-motivated, solution-oriented.
