An IT Support role involves providing technical assistance and support to internal users or external clients experiencing computer and technology-related issues. The role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of an organization's IT systems. Responsibilities include providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, ensuring effective use of computer systems, software, and hardware across multiple locations, with potential national and international travel.
Working on-call one weekend per month is required.
Responsibilities
- Respond to user inquiries and provide technical assistance via phone, email, and in-person channels.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including setting up and collecting laptops and peripherals.
- Maintain inventory of IT devices such as laptops, peripherals, and printers.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues.
- Log and track support tickets using a help desk system.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, peripherals, and software applications.
- Troubleshoot issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Provide user training on basic systems and software usage.
- Assist with network connectivity troubleshooting and configuration.
- Collaborate with network administrators to ensure network stability.
- Implement and enforce security protocols, including antivirus and anti-malware measures.
- Educate users on security best practices and conduct security audits.
- Create and maintain documentation for IT procedures and configurations.
- Ensure operating systems and software are updated with the latest patches and security updates.
- Work closely with other IT professionals on complex issues and projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of hardware, operating systems, and common software applications.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL, COBIT, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
