How you will make a difference
- Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with management to assess short- and long-term network and cloud capacity needs. Create/maintain documentation related to network and cloud configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records. Develop/implement policies, procedures and training plans for network administration, cloud usage and disaster recovery.
- Acquisition and Deployment: Design and deploy LANs, WANs, wireless networks, and Azure cloud environments, including servers, routers, switches, UPSs and other hardware. Conduct research on network and cloud products, services, protocols and standards. Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, software upgrades, and cloud services. Interact with vendors and contractors to secure network and cloud products and services.
- Operational Management: Configure, monitor, test and report on network and cloud environments and performance; troubleshooting as needed. Ensure connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephone equipment and other appliances. Manage servers, including database, email print, backup service and associated operating systems and software. Participate in management security solutions. Perform audits, system backups, and recovery.
What you should be good at
- Minimum Five years’ related work experience
- Proven experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN and WWAN design and implementation
- Proven experience with Azure administration and M365 administration
- Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
- Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
- Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, Internet standards, and cloud environments.
- Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
- Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Knowledge of network security products such as Cisco switches, Checkpoint firewall, CrowdStrike and BeyondTrust
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related field preferred [not required]
