Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber is seeking an IT Helpdesk Intern to join our Grand Rapids, MI team. This full-time internship will support the IT group with first-level technical assistance across departments and staff.

You will troubleshoot devices, assist with password resets, manage hardware/software deployments, and help ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding. Strong communication and a drive to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field.
• Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist employees with password resets, account access, and IT service requests.
• Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Configure and deploy computer hardware and software.
• Assist with inventory management, asset tracking, and equipment setup.
• Document support tickets and resolutions using the help desk system.
• Support onboarding and offboarding activities for employees.
• Collaborate with IT team on projects and system upgrades.

Working with our IT team, you will provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues to a variety of different departments and staff.

What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Understanding of computer hardware, software installation, and troubleshooting concepts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
