Job summary

Gunnison County seeks an IT Help Desk Technician to be the first point of contact for customers needing assistance with computers, phones, and peripherals. You will support Windows desktops, Microsoft Office, Active Directory and M365, while maintaining a high level of customer service.

The role requires strong organizational skills, clear English communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines. On-call availability is required in coordination with the IT team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting Windows desktops, Office, Active Directory and M365.
• Experience supporting telephones, printers, cameras, microphones, cell phones and tablets.
• Strong organizational and English communication skills, both written and oral.
• Customer-focused, patient and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work under deadlines with interruptions and handle multiple tasks.
• On-call availability in coordination with IT staff.
• Ability to work independently with confidential information.

Pay Rate

The hourly range is from $27.18 to $30.94, depending on experience, plus full benefits.

*The County pays monthly on the last week day of the month.*

Requirements

• Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
• Must complete IC S 100 and IC S 700 within the first year of employment (County provided).
• Must pass CBI background check (County provided).
• CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) training and certification (County provided).
• SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) training and certification (County provided).

Qualifications/Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited school in Computer Science (or related field), or a combination of education, certifications, and experience that County Management deems appropriate.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktops, Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Active Directory, and M365.
• Experience supporting telephones, printers, cameras, microphones, cell phones, and tablets.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate in English, orally and in writing.
• Customer service oriented, patient, and friendly.
• Able to work under deadlines with interruptions, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work productively under minimal supervision.
• Able to be on-call (in coordination with other IT staff) for emergencies and unusual events.
• Ability to work independently with access to confidential information used to develop and support managerial positions.
